Teen Faith Formation in Saint Luke Catholic Church

Saint Luke Youth (SLY) is a High School Youth Ministry aimed to help teens develop a personal, meaningful, and ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ through their Catholic faith.  SLY meets and enjoys a teen dinner on the last Sunday of each month after the 5:30pm Mass. At the conclusion of the school year, many members of the group embark on a mission trip in cooperation with Catholic Heart Workcamp for a week of service and worship along with other youth groups in the nation. This ministry also offers monthly community service, fun, and faith events. Its focus is to know, love, and serve the Lord.

For more information, please contact Youth Minister Deb Toner by emailing YouthMinistry@stlukewestport.org or call (203) 227-7245.

From June 23rd-June 29th, SLY members will be working with other teens from youth groups across the nation through the organization Catholic Heart Workcamp on our mission trip to Nashville, Tennessee

The work that the group will be doing includes painting and construction, helping the elderly and young, serving in food kitchens, and more to assist the community in the area. We will also become closer to christ in daily masses and other religious activities.

SLY members give an announcement for the rose sale at the 5:30 evening mass on Saturday, April 27.

On the weekend of April 27-28, SLY members held a rose sale in order to raise funds for the bus cost on our upcoming mission trip. The group was very successful, selling about 100 dozen roses and raising $1700 thanks to help from numerous teen members before, during, and after all masses that weekend.

SLY members help to prepare the roses for the sale by grouping them into bouquets of a dozen to be sold.
