Bring a friend ... everyone is welcome to join this growing ministry!
Please read "Part 3: The Seven Pillars of Catholic Spirituality" and "Chapter 12: Confession" (pages 134-162). While reading, please consider the following questions:
- In the introduction to the Seven Pillars of Catholic Spirituality, the author comments, “Your richer, more abundant future is intimately linked to your weaknesses.” (P.140, para i) What do you understand by this statement?
- How can confession (Sacrament of reconciliation) help you to strive to become the best version of yourself?
- How would you best inspire/encourage a friend/person to develop the habit of going to Confession? How often do you need to go to confession?
- The author states two truths of self-knowledge in the chapter on confession. They are: 1. Human beings have an incredible ability to deceive themselves. 2. We almost never see things as they really are? Do these comments represent the true condition of the human nature? Your thoughts and comments?
“In failing to confess, Lord, I would only hide you from myself, not myself from you.” – Saint Augustine of Hippo
